CSWVA Inaccurate statements regarding inclusion of Hydrants in the project:
  • "Will I save any money? “Yes! For many home owners, the savings will exceed the costs. With fire hydrants on the street, you can expect home insurance savings of 10 – 20%. Additionally, homes supplied by wells use a well pump, holding tank with pump, and pressure tank to supply the home with water. Maintenance of this infrastructure costs $500 – 700/year. For those with hard water, there are additional savings as appliances, water heaters, and plumbing fittings will not need to be replaced as frequently, if at all.”
  • During the 2007 Municipal Election, Frank Towler, CSWVA President, posted to Mayoralty Candidate Sean McNulty's blog,
    on hydrants.

Hydrants will not be provided. CSWVA has written to the District confirming its knowledge that there are no hydrants included in the project.

Inaccurate statement about the Chief Medical Health Officer's mandate:

The Chief Medical Health Officer does NOT have the power to mandate water be provided to an area, and can NOT force taxpayers to pay 100% of the cost.
